Alvin Leung

Alvin Leung, known as the Demon Chef, is a self-taught chef born in London to Hong Kong Chinese parents and raised in Toronto, who transitioned from engineering to open Bo Innovation in Hong Kong in 2003, transforming a struggling speakeasy into a pioneer of X-Treme Chinese cuisine blending molecular gastronomy with Cantonese flavors. The restaurant earned two Michelin stars in 2009, three in 2013 or 2014, lost the third in 2020 or 2021, and holds two stars today after relocating to Central in 2022. He is associated with Cafe Bau and Demon Duck by Alvin Leung, including outposts in Dubai.
