i. Biography
Bertrand de Villaine is the co-manager of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in Vosne-Romanée, Burgundy, appointed in December 2021 to succeed his uncle Aubert de Villaine. He spent over 14 years training at the domaine in various roles, including as administrative director, mastering viticulture and winemaking under his uncle's mentorship. Representing the Gaudin de Villaine family, which has owned half the estate since 1881, he co-manages the 28-hectare domaine alongside Perrine Fenal of the Leroy family.
