i. Biography
Christopher Kostow, born in 1976 or 1977 in Chicago, is a philosophy major who became a Michelin-starred chef before age 30, serving as executive chef at The Restaurant at Meadowood in Napa Valley since 2008, where the restaurant earned three Michelin stars from 2011 to 2019, making him the second American-born and third-youngest chef to achieve this honor. He previously led Chez TJ in Mountain View to two Michelin stars and has been awarded the James Beard Foundation's Best Chef: West in 2013, Food & Wine's Best New Chef in 2009, and published the cookbook A New Napa Cuisine in 2014. Kostow also co-owns The Charter Oak in St. Helena since 2017.
