i. Biography
Corey Lee is a Korean-American chef and owner of Benu in San Francisco, which became the first restaurant in the city to earn three Michelin stars in 2014, making him the first Korean chef to achieve that honor. Born in Seoul in 1977 and raised in the US, he spent eight years at The French Laundry under Thomas Keller before opening Benu in 2010. He also owns San Ho Won, which holds one Michelin star, and authored the cookbook Benu in 2015.
