Managing Chateau de la Tour and Domaine Pierre Labet
i. Biography
Édouard Labet is a sixth-generation winemaker who, alongside his father François Labet, manages the family estates Chateau de la Tour—the largest proprietor in Clos de Vougeot—and Domaine Pierre Labet, a 10-hectare domaine in Beaune with vineyards in Meursault, Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Chorey-lès-Beaune, and Gevrey-Chambertin. The estates transitioned to organic viticulture in 1992 and biodynamic practices since 2015, employing whole-cluster vinification since 1987 and aging wines in custom-made barrels. Édouard studied business school in Australia and worked in the spirits industry for Pernod Ricard in Paris and Sweden before returning to the family domaines.
