i. Biography
Emmanuel Reynaud (1963–2025) was a fourth-generation winemaker who took over Château des Tours in Vacqueyras in 1982 after his father Bernard's tractor accident, building its winery in 1989 and establishing domaine-bottling. In 1997, following his uncle Jacques Reynaud's death, he assumed control of Château Rayas in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Château de Fonsalette, refining their iconic Grenache-based wines known for finesse, perfume, and late harvesting. His subtle evolutions emphasized structural finesse over power, creating legendary Rhône wines sought after worldwide for their unique strawberry-honey-rose aroma.
