i. Biography
Emmanuel Rouget is the founder and former owner of Domaine Emmanuel Rouget in Vosne-Romanée, Burgundy, where he succeeded his uncle Henri Jayer by leasing and eventually taking control of his legendary vineyards, including the renowned Cros Parantoux Premier Cru, starting in 1985 and fully by 2001. Originally trained as a tractor engineer, he began winemaking in 1976 under Jayer's tutelage, employing techniques like ultra-low yields, pre-fermentation cold maceration, and 100% new oak. Since 2011, control of the domaine has passed to his sons Nicolas, who manages the vineyards, and Guillaume, who oversees winemaking.
