Chef Patron of Osteria Francescana, three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Modena
i. Biography
Massimo Bottura is an Italian chef and restaurateur born in Modena on September 30, 1962, who founded Osteria Francescana in 1995, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant that has been ranked among the world's best restaurants twice by The World's 50 Best Restaurants. After initially studying law, he abandoned his studies to work in hospitality, training under legendary chefs Alain Ducasse at Le Louis XV in Monaco and Ferran Adrià at El Bulli, before combining their influences with traditional Emilian cuisine to create his distinctive culinary philosophy. Beyond his flagship restaurant, Bottura has expanded his hospitality empire to include multiple Gucci Osteria locations, Refettorio social dining projects, and Casa Maria Luigia, a luxury guest house, while being recognized as one of Time's 100 Most Influential People in 2019.
