i. Biography
Michael Cimarusti is the chef and co-owner of Providence in Los Angeles, a seafood-focused restaurant he opened in 2005 that has held two Michelin stars since 2008, earned a Green Michelin Star for sustainability, and was elevated to three Michelin stars in 2025. A 1991 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, he previously served as executive chef at Water Grill in Los Angeles for six years and worked at renowned kitchens including Spago, Le Cirque, Osteria del Circo, and Arpège. In 2013, he opened Connie & Ted’s in West Hollywood, a casual New England-style seafood spot inspired by his Rhode Island upbringing. He won the James Beard Award for Best Chef: West in 2019 and received the Estrella Damm Chefs' Choice Award in 2025.
