Nelson Tanate (born 1991 in Wierden, Netherlands) is a Dutch chef of Moluccan heritage who has served as Head Chef at De Librije in Zwolle since 2004, growing under the mentorship of Jonnie Boer before assuming full culinary direction in April 2025. He maintains De Librije's three Michelin stars, the highest distinction in the Netherlands, and is recognized as an SVH Master Chef and holder of three knives in The Best Chef Awards. His cuisine emphasizes Dutch products and regional gastronomy while occasionally incorporating Moluccan influences from his family background.
