Tony Lu is an Executive Chef and head of the Fu restaurant group in Shanghai, China, comprising four establishments specializing in authentic Shanghainese cuisine. He is the chef and founder of Fu He Hui, a vegetarian restaurant that earned a Michelin star in September 2016, when Michelin stars were awarded for the first time to mainland Chinese restaurants. Lu began his culinary career at age 18 after leaving high school in 1993, working his way up to head chef without formal specialist training, and has since become a prominent figure in elevating the status of the culinary profession in China.
